Robert “Bobby” Colobong of ‘Ele‘ele died March 10, 2011, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 69. He was born July 16, 1941, in Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Sonny Nunes, Edward Colobong, James Colobong, Ben Colobong; and sisters, Frances Doctolero, Rosaline Colobong.
He is survived by wife Betty Colobong; sons Nelson (Janine) Kane of Hanama‘ulu, Jason (Jill) Colobong of Kansas; sister Flora Cortez of Hanama‘ulu; sisters-in-law Louise Colobong of ‘Aiea, Jolana Colobong of Hilo, Veronica Colobong of Hanama‘ulu; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 17, at Lydgate small pavilion at 10 a.m. Causal attire suggested.
Goro Tasaka of Koloa died March 8, 2011, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 94. Born on Aug. 23, 1916, in Koloa, he was a senior panman with McBryde Plantation.
He is survived by wife Yoshiko Tasaka; sons Gene Tasaka of Yorba Linda, California, Dennis Tasaka of ‘Ele‘ele, Gary Tasaka (Lucinda) of Lihu‘e, Gilbert Tasaka (Evelyn) of Mililani; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services were private.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
