PRINCEVILLE — Rescuers on Tuesday lifted a 56-year-old Princeville woman from the base of a cliff near the Ali‘i Kai Resort in Princeville, a county press release stated.
The woman had been reported missing Monday evening after she didn’t return from a walk.
She is recovering at Wilcox Memorial Hospital in Lihu‘e, the release stated. Her name wasn’t available by press time.
At daybreak, Kaua‘i Police Department officers aboard Air 1 located the woman and called Kaua‘i Fire Department rescue specialists for assistance.
She was airlifted to a nearby landing area where awaiting medics transported her to the hospital for treatment, the released stated. A woman who witnessed part of the rescue said she saw the helicopter landing on a grassy area at a nearby resort.
No foul play is suspected. No further information is available at this time.
