HANAPEPE — Due to equipment failure, loose mixed waste is not being accepted at the Hanapepe transfer station until further notice, county officials said in a news release Monday.
The facility is still accepting bagged trash, along with green waste, scrap metals, appliances, propane tanks, and residential used motor and cooking oil for recycling.
Residents wishing to dispose of loose mixed waste during this period can take their items to the Lihu‘e transfer station or the Kekaha Landfill.
