Happy birthday to Shelly Koerte, who celebrated her special day by picking up a complete-game win on the hill for Waimea against Kapa‘a Wednesday.
Mahalo to papa Michael Koerte for forwarding us the stats of the KIF softball games, and Lisa Lemi for keeping the books straight. It’s almost like every game is a final game at the HHSAA, and it helps the fans when the game gets lost in the winds.
“Anahola” Joel Pahukula (the fans were listening to him in Kapa‘a) and coach Glenn Mickens were dealing with the rain showers that blew down from the Kalaheo plateau at the KIF baseball game at Hanapepe Stadium, and mahalo to coach Lois Keamoai for making that game the only one with a working scoreboard.
OK, time to go check out Warren Perry and the Royal Order of Kamehameha at the Prince Kuhio Park services. Tom Shigemoto, Julie Souza and Gini Kapali are some of the bigs who should be there, too.
On Sunday, check out Millie Curtis and Lorna Santos at the Lawa‘i Cannery garage sale benefiting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life — Val Rynda of FM97 should be there, looking for bargains, too.
