It’s that time again, the Waimea Town Celebration. As I’m getting ready, I can hear the fresh music playing in my backyard. Just walking distance from my house (behind Waimea High School), I can hear the band “Pono Breeze” playing that clean mellow local music.
When I finally got there, the stage and food booth caught my attention first. Of course the set-up is near the old Waimea plantation building across of their movie theater. As you walk around, your eyes are overwhelmed with people of all walks of life and ages. It’s a melting pot of diverse groups of people, food, and fun.
If you’re a local resident or outside visitor, mark your calendars down and remember the Waimea Town Celebration happens once a year in late February. It is the epic time and place where everyone comes together to forget their daily problems. The event to come to once a year to show/and receive appreciation to and from your family and friends. We all see clearly on this night.
Togetherness is visible, and encouraged by great music, adult drinks, ono foods, vendors of clothing and accessories (that help you express yourself), and fun activities for the young ones. Like the locals say here: “No can go wrong!”
