Sweet mixologist Jenny Thiele came to Kaua‘i from Reno to help her pregnant sister. But that was four-and-a-half years ago. She liked the island so much she decided to stay.
In Reno, Jenny used to work at the front desk at a physical therapy clinic. Here on Kaua‘i, she’s the doing the therapy work, listening to customers, giving sound advice and prescribing some pretty good drinks.
But working at Olympic Café is therapy for her too. She said she loves meeting friendly people.
It looks like Reno lost a lousy slot-machine gambler and Kaua‘i gained a happy hiker who loves to spend time at the beach. She even kayaked her way to Kalalau a couple summers ago.
Olympic Café opens at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday. On Sunday it opens at noon. The restaurant closes at 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 9 p.m. on the rest of the week.
