LIHU‘E — In its continuing efforts to prevent and reduce substance abuse, the county Anti-Drug Office is offering free substance abuse prevention training for local organizations and government agencies.
The training is scheduled from March 14 to 17 in the Orchid Room at the Kaua‘i Beach Resort. Each session will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for the final day, which will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., a county news release states.
Lunch will be provided.
Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a certificate recognizing their completion of the Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training as well as continuing education hours.
The training is limited to 30 participants.
Funding for the program is provided through a Strategic Prevention Framework Incentive Grant the county received from the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) through the state Department of Health, Alcohol Drug Abuse Division.
