Enos “Enoka” Paku Kaohi of ‘Ele‘ele died Jan. 10, 2011, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 89. Born Oct. 24, 1921, he was a retired longshoreman with McCabe Hamilton & Renny.
He was preceded in death by father Joseph Kalua Kaohi Jr.; mother Rachel; siblings Joseph Kaohi, Emily (Paul) Iwata, Rachael (Joseph) Hall, Markham (Sarah) Kaohi, Benjamin Kaohi, Miriam Hosea, Mervin Kaohi, Albert Kaohi; step-daughter Stella Fu Ortiz; and grandson Jaimie Roy Enoka Pajo.
He is survived by wife Minerva Naumu Fu Kaohi; daughters Wilhelmina (Bill) Bigno of California, Darlene (Richard) Kubota of California; step-children David H. (Malia) Fu of Kekaha, Solomon K. (Cynthia) Fu Jr. of Florida, Samuel K. Fu of ‘Ele‘ele, Davette Healani Lopez-Fu of Honolulu and Davene Fu Taylor of Wisconsin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Dudie Kaohi of Hanapepe, Mercedes Ching of Hanapepe, William (Miyoko) Kaohi of ‘Ele‘ele, Clarence (Lillian) Kaohi of ‘Ele‘ele, Ellsworth (Joan) Kaohi of Big Island, Betty Kaleohano of Hanapepe, Arlene (Edmund) Naholoholo of California and Ronald (Marjorie) Kaohi of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Hanapepe Hawaiian Congregational Church; memorial service to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m.
