Hitcliff Ebinger
Hitcliff ‘Bully’ C. Ebinger of Kapa‘a, Kaua‘i, died Jan. 5, 2011, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 69. Born in Lihu’e, Kaua‘i, on Oct. 7, 1941, he was a warehouse worker for Kaua‘i Producers, Inc.
He was preceded in death by parents George and Marie Ebinger, and brother Gilbert Ebinger.
He is survived by wife Elizabeth “Bea” Ebinger; grandson Jon-Alan Apana of Kapa‘a; brothers Hughes (Shirley) Ebinger of Kapa‘a, Keith (Diane) Ebinger of Lihu‘e, Olson Ebinger of Florida; sister Florence Munkacsi of Kapa‘a; step-sons Jonathan (Michelle) Apana, Joseph (Charla) Apana, James (Noelani) Apana III, Jeremiah (Mari) Apana, Joshua (Michelle Acob) Apana; grandchildren Kristy, Darchelle, Jon-Alan, Jeresen, Desiree, David, Kaimi, Kendra, Momo, Shambree, Abigail, Joshy, Kapono, Kawai, Eli-Ray, Ashley, Lindsey, Iokepa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday, Jan. 15, at Kapa‘a Assembly of God Church, Kapa‘a; services at 9 a.m.

Hisao Nakamura of Honolulu died on Jan. 3, 2011 at Queens Medical Center at the age of 85. Born in Anahola, Kaua‘i, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, President for Lamers Enterprise, Inc. and the former owner of O‘ahu Welding and Brown Welding.
He is survived by spouse Hannah Kiyoko Nakamura; sons Brian T. Nakamura of Honolulu, Wesley H. Nakamura (Linda) of Honolulu; daughter Audrey R. Akazawa (Randy) of Honolulu; six grandchildren; brothers Shinji ‘Burt’ Nakamura of Gardena, California, Sueki Nakamura (Sally) of Anahola, Kaua‘i; sisters Kimie ‘Kay’ Momoki of Honolulu, Fusae Momoki of Honolulu, Setsuko ‘Sets’ Nakamura of Gardena, California and Haruno Inazaki (Hideo) of Garden, California.
Visitation at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 and services at 6 p.m. at Hosoi Garden Mortuary.
