FRIDAY
Never Too Old to Rock ‘n’ Roll
8 to 11 p.m. at JJ’s Broiler Restaurant
Lynn and Thayne Taylor and the rest of NTO kickoff their weekly showcase tonight. The seven-member band will play a mix of jazz, blues, country, folk and good ‘ol rock ‘n’ roll. Must be 21 or older. $10.
Singing workshop
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Church of the Pacific in Princeville
R&B singers Darcel Wilson and Sharon Young share their expertise to performers, singers and musicians of all skill levels. The duo are faculty members at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and will be performing 3 p.m. Sunday at Kaua‘i Community College Performing Arts Center. For today’s workshop, bring a pencil and notebook, wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to sing and move.

Each year, faculty members at Berklee College of Music compete for a ten-day trip to Kaua‘i. This year’s winner is R&B singer and pianist Darcel Wilson.
Tickets are $15, and proceeds go towards a scholarship for a Hawaiian student to attend Berklee College of Music.
