Seisuki Arakaki
Seisuki “Richard” Arakaki of Koloa died Dec. 16, 2010, at home at age 80. Born April 18, 1930, in Hanama‘ulu, he was a journeyman mechanic with Lihu‘e Plantation and was known as an avid gardener.
He was preceded in death by mother Matsuyo Arakaki; brothers Kamado, Yeaso, Yieshin, Yeibin and David Arakaki; sisters Kay Levi and Ruth Shimomaya.
He is survived by wife Emiko; son Richard (Melva) Arakaki of Koloa; daughters Cindy C. (Brandon) Uehara of Mililani and Tracy C. (Joey) Bukoski of Lawa‘i; grandchildren Brandon K. (Ashley) Arakaki, Bryson K. Arakaki, Cullen K. Arakaki, Tyrus S. (Kristi) Acoba, Ariane A. (Caleb) Silva, Troy S. Acoba, Taylen S. Acoba, Brody K. Uehara, Caitlyn N. Bukoski and Kierstyn A. Bukoski; great-grandchildren Haley K. Arakaki, Patricia M.R. Acoba and Kalea C. Acoba; brothers Terry (Nancy) Arakaki of Kailua and Thomas (Sally) Arakaki of Koloa; sister Nancy (Ikito) Muraoka of Koloa; sister-in-law Betty Arakaki of Kane‘ohe; and brother-in-law Harold Levi of Honolulu.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service at 4 p.m. Casual attire. No flowers.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Norman Lyman III
Norman Keonaona Lyman III died Dec. 12, 2010, at Hilo Medical Center at age 44. Born Feb. 28, 1966, in Hilo, he was the coach for the Kapa‘a Warriors High School Football team.
He is survived by parents Pam and Norman Layman II of Hilo; sons Isaac ‘Ike’ Lyman, Kainaoa Lyman, Kalei Lyman, all of Hilo; brothers Richard Kalani Lyman of Papaikou, Hawai‘i, Arthur (Lisa) Lyman of Mililani, David (Amy) Lyman of Hilo, Pomai Lyman of Hilo; maternal grandmother Teo Tulang of Papaikou; numerous cousins, nieces nephews uncles and aunts.
Friends may call Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m.; wake service at 7 p.m. Friends may also call on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou; visitation from 8 a.m., mass at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Homelani Memorial park (section 2).
Family requests casual attire; flowers and leis are welcome.
