LIHU‘E — Tickets for the Showtime Characters Christmas Extravaganza are on sale at Borders Books and Music, Deja Vu, Deli & Bread Connection, Scotty’s Music in Kalaheo and Pono Market.
Brenda Biehler of Showtime Characters said the idea of the extravaganza is to provide memories for families, but the ultimate goal for this year’s show is to help offset medical expenses for two Kaua‘i girls.
“Jorey Cantu had her surgery last week in San Francisco, and Christy Mayfield will be undergoing her surgery next week in the same hospital in San Francisco, Calif.,” Biehler said in an e-mail.
The first Showtime Characters Christmas Extravaganza will open its doors Dec. 21 at the War Memorial Convention Hall starting at 7 p.m.
“We will be showcasing at least 26 characters during this event,” Biehler said. “It will be a magical evening for the young, and the young at heart.”
Doors open at 6 p.m. for food concessions and photo opportunities with some of the characters.
Christmas carolers will perform as the pre-show entertainment before the headline act by the Showtime Characters.
“This event will be providing many memories to our keiki while also helping in giving for a wonderful cause — helping two of our own young ladies,” Biehler said.
Showtime Characters are no strangers to the community, having appeared weekly during the Toddler Thursday programs at the Kukui Grove Center, and more recently, participating in the Lights on Rice parade and the Easter Seals Gingerbread Family Festival, Saturday at Kukui Grove.
Pre-sale tickets are $10 for children and $12 for adults. At the door, all tickets will be $12.
