Beatrice O. Almeida of Kalaheo died Nov. 18, 2010, at St. Francis West Hospice at age 91. Born Jan. 11, 1919, in Koloa, she was an employee of Kaua‘i Pineapple Cannery and Medeiros Chicken Farm.
She is survived by daughters Lorraine (Donald) Kakalia Sr., Alberta (Roy) Paris Sr., and Caroline (John) Barretto Sr.; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Sarafin Octavio and Frank Octavio; sisters Josephine Douglas and Sylvia Yonalunas; brother-in-law Donald Quintal; sisters-in-law Lorraine Pacheo, Eleanor Almeida, Micky Sherry and Ellen Almeida; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, at Holy Cross Catholic Church; mass at 11 a.m. followed by burial at St. Raphael’s Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
