A Kaua‘i native and elite surfer, Andy Irons has touched the lives of countless number of people here on the Garden Isle and around the globe.
Although I personally did not have the opportunity to meet Andy, I have heard and read about how Andy has inspired so many young people in the world of surfing.
I think it is admirable that a person of his age had already discovered what some people take a lifetime to learn… Sharing your talents with others so they, in turn, will be encouraged to develop their own natural gifts is what’s important in life.
Our island community is truly grateful for the contribution Andy has made to Kaua‘i… and beyond.
To the family and friends of Andy Irons, I extend my deepest sympathy, and hope that you will take solace in knowing that what Andy has shared with the world will continue to resonate.
