LIHU‘E — The Catholic Charities of Hawai‘i Kaua‘i chapter dedicated and blessed its new offices Thursday.
Formerly located in the Senda Building at the corner of Hardy and ‘Akahi streets, the new offices are now located upstairs of Central Pacific Bank at 3016 ‘Umi St.
“We had to move,” said Mary Navarro, the Kaua‘i supervisor. “Under our state contract, we needed to have a separate child-care facility to provide child care while their parents get counseling.”
The new office, which incorporates two suites in the CPB building, satisfies that requirement and also provides Catholic Charities with an additional 200 square feet of office space.
Serving Hawai‘i since 1947, Catholic Charities Hawai‘i provides services to tens of thousands of people each year.
Services are available to people of all faiths and cultures, especially those with the greatest need.
The Kaua‘i office promotes the mission of Catholic Charities Hawai‘i on the island in partnership with the local community, assisting families and individuals in need by providing information, help with applications for assistance, and referrals to Catholic Charities Hawai‘i programs or other local resources.
Debra deLuis, the Kaua‘i community director, is the point of contact for collaboration with local agencies and community organizations.
The office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Walk-in hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
