KAPA‘A — The UPS Store in Kapa‘a now offers document shredding, and for two days only, they’re inviting the community to stop by and try out their new machine.
“Given everyone’s preoccupation with identity theft, maintaining the privacy of one’s information is crucial,” said UPS Store owner Megan McCaslin.
“Our You Shred machine can destroy 100 pages — about one pound — of documents in a minute.”
Cross-cutting technology allows for the destruction of documents with staples, as well as CDs, DVDs and credit cards within minutes. Today and Saturday the store is offering a free, 60-second test drive of their equipment.
“People can shred their papers themselves or leave them with us to do,” she said.
“Eventually, we expect to offer weekly pick-up service anywhere on the island.”
The cost to shred is $1 per minute and $5 for seven minutes. The UPS Store is located at 4-831 Kuhio Hwy., Ste. 438, Kapa‘a. It opens at 8 a.m. daily and closes at 6 p.m. Fridays and 4 p.m. Saturdays.
