Carmelina Sario Reyes of Kapa‘a died Oct. 10, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 79. Born in Talisay, Negros Occidental, Philippines on Dec. 15, 1930, she was a dedicated homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Ramon Reyes of Kapa‘a; seven children: Leticia Medinilla of the Philippines, Wilfredo Sario of Kapa‘a, Adele (Chuck) Bolden of Hilo, Alan (Jane) Reyes of Long Beach, Calif., Alexander (Edette) Reyes of the Philippines, Audie (Rina) Reyes of the Philippines and Annabelle (Ralph) Clark of Kapa‘a; four sisters: Edilberta Paderna, Condrada Espanol, Josefa Oliveros and Eusebia Abello; brother Ildefonso Sario of the Philippines; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, at St. Catherine Church, with viewing from 9 to 10:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at St. Catherine School cafeteria.

Peter Pajela Sr.
Peter Difulo Pajela Sr. of Koloa died Oct. 11, 2010, at his residence at age 79. Born on May 13, 1931, in Waimea, he was a retired assistant security chief with Garden Island Security.
He was preceded in death by parents Santiago and Mary Pajela, brother Santiago Pajela Jr. and sisters Helen Danao and Magdalina Oligo.
He is survived by wife Joey A. Pajela; sons: Peter Pajela Jr., Anthony (Lisatte) Pajela and Joshua (Alice) Pajela; daughter: Ka‘iulani (Benny) France; grandchildren Ku‘ulei Manintin, Andrew, Leighton, Justin and Lanaya Pajela and Conner Kosen; great-granddaughters Meleana and Raiatea Ibaan-Manintin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is Friday, Oct. 22, at Kekaha Kingdom Hall.
Visitation is at 10 a.m., and services will be held at 11 a.m. The scattering of ashes will be private. The family asks that flowers be omitted. Donations can be made to Kaua‘i Hospice. The family suggests aloha attire.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Mortuary.
Richard Dunham
Richard Dunham of Lihu‘e died at Garden Isle Health Care on Sept. 10, 2010, at age 55. He was born in Anniston, Ala., on Nov. 7, 1954, and was a flooring manager at Home Depot.
He is survived by his mother, Clara Stone, of California; four brothers: Fredrick Dunham, Michael Dunham, Gary Dunham and Rodney Dunham; sister Cynthia Dunham and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held in the future.

David Burgess
David Colin Burgess of Kalaheo died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Oct. 8, 2010, at age 80. He was born in Montreal, Canada on Aug. 16, 1930, and retired as a service manager with Sears Roebuck And Co.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Burgess of Kalaheo; son, Colin (Debbie) Burgess of Missouri; stepchildren Donna (Jim) Hubert, Karen Goward and Cindy (Johnny) Francis, all of California; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery at 2 p.m. Reception to follow at Joe’s on the Green in Po‘ipu.
