LIHU‘E — The 25-year-old male visitor who apparently drowned Sunday afternoon at Wailua Falls was identified Wednesday as Kevin Kim of Edmonds, Wash., according to county officials.
He had been swimming at the falls with others when he became separated from the group, an earlier news release said. Upon discovering that the man was missing, authorities were notified.
The man was found unresponsive at approximately 2:15 p.m. at the base of the falls.
Kim’s parents were notified Wednesday, county spokeswoman Mary Daubert said, so KPD subsequently released his name.
