WAILUA — Ezra Copeland may be playing in the Under 8 division, but his moves were big league.
“He plays a lot with his older brother who is in the Hawai‘i Youth Soccer Association program,” said the father of the tiny soccer player who dove, tumbled and rolled with the numerous shots on goal being taken by the Yellow Bombers, Saturday.
Games for the American Youth Soccer Organization, Region 941, or East Kaua‘i, got underway Saturday with the bulk of the games taking place at the Weinberg Sports Complex.
According to parents at the game, games were also being played at Kapahi Park and also at the Wailua Houselots Park.
Games for the AYSO, Region 940, or West Kaua‘i, start Saturday from as early as 8 a.m. at venues from Lihu‘e to Waimea.
Registration for the 2010 season is still open for youth ages 5 through 19, according to the AYSO Kaua‘i website.
