Madeline Ka‘iliponi Torres of Koloa died June 8, 2009, at age 82. Born on March 10, 1927, in Kalaupapa, Moloka‘i, she was a lei maker at various Kaua‘i Hotels.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cresenciano “Chris” Torres, and daughters Bernadette (Elliott) Rosa and Elizabeth Torres.
She is survived by Barbara (Butch) Diehl, Alvin Travens, Angelo Batin Jr., Yolanda (David) Cutcher, Sunday (Tom) Dargel, Christine (Jaime) Orozco, 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial service from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 21, at Po‘ipu Beach Park.
Casual attire is suggested.
