LIHU‘E — Contest No. 2 of the National Scholastic Surfing Association’s Hawai‘i 2010-2011 season will take place Saturday and Sunday at PK’s. Lawai Beach will see many of Hawai‘i’s top amateurs converging to carve up the waves and accumulate points.
LIHU‘E — Contest No. 2 of the National Scholastic Surfing Association’s Hawai‘i 2010-2011 season will take place Saturday and Sunday at PK’s.
Lawai Beach will see many of Hawai‘i’s top amateurs converging to carve up the waves and accumulate points.
The NSSA Hawaiian tour includes nine contests across the state with contestants building up point totals to earn regional championships and a trip the national event in California.
The most recent national event yielded strong results from Kaua‘i participants, including a first place in the Open Men’s event for Lihu‘e’s Kaimana Jaquias, a second in the Open Women’s event for Hanalei’s Nage Melamed, a second in the Open Jr. event for Kilauea’s Jesse Guglielmana, a first in the Explorer Women division for Kilauea’s Leila Hurst, a second in the Explorer Women for Lawai’s Briana Cope and a fourth in the Explorer Girls division for Kilauea’s Kiana Fores.
