Wassup brudda, cuz? Jeni Kaneshiro was demonstrating how she can switch between English and pidgin during a conversation with another Kaneshiro, Val, following the Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko performance, Saturday at the Sheraton Kaua‘i Ho‘olaule‘a.
Val said she was glad the group performed because it allowed her to get out of the farm (there’s Kaneshiro pork as a selected ingredient for the first Chef’s Challenge tonight at the Shells Restaurant).
Candice Kraughto and her husband Keith got to take in the Ho‘olaule‘a after attending the Macrobiotics cooking class with Leslie Ashburn at Kukui Grove Center. Now she’ll have to check out the Labor Day Okinawa Festival at Kapiolani Park since she thoroughly loved the RMD group.
For those who missed this performance, RMD’s next performance is Aug. 7 at the Waimea Higashi Hongwanji bon dance intermission, said Kent Yamauchi, the Kaua‘i RMD leader.
So when do we do the next macrobiotics?
Hats off to Frank Guarin and his Sheraton staff on a great event!
The fun continues at the Koloa Plantation Days… check out Veronica Lovesy and the Plantation Sweet Treats at the Kukui‘ula Shopping Village.
