Julia Ferreira
Julia Correa Ferreira of Kalaheo died July 9, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 96. Born on Dec. 5, 1913, in Lihu‘e, she was a forelady with Lawa‘i Pineapple Cannery.
She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel Ferreira; son Alfred Ferreira; brothers Manuel Correa, Joe Correa and William Correa; sisters Mary Parraga, Daisy Souza, Helen Vidinha, Gloria Perreira, Rosalina Duarte and Elsie Texiera.
She is survived by her sons Wallace Ferreira and Bobby Ferreira, both of Kalaheo; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister Emily Lopes of California.
Visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Mass at 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, July 20, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested.

Sabina Cabot
Sabina Segismundo Cabot of Puhi died July 13, 2010, at her home at age 91. Born on Nov. 23, 1918, in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she retired from Coco Palms Hotel as a chambermaid.
She was preceded in death by her husband Delfin Mendoza Cabot Sr.
She is survived by her sons Delfin (Lourdes) Cabot Jr. of Huntington Park, Calif., Gilbert (Joni) Cabot of Puhi, and Edwin (Alma) Cabot of Kalaheo; daughter Elsie (Jim) Walker of Glenham, N.Y.; sisters Caridad (Moises) Mendoza of the Philippines, Marta (Arsenio) Dolor of Hanama‘ulu, and Rosita Dumlao of the Philippines; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing from 8 to 9:30 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., on July 20, at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Paul Aguiar
Paul Dennis Aguiar of Kekaha died May 13, 2010, at his home at age 54. He was born on Nov. 23, 1955.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy Aguiar and Manuel “Mac” Aguiar Jr.
He is survived by his aunties, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, July 21, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Kalaheo.

Herminia Madriaga
Herminia “Mining” Madriaga of ‘Oma‘o died July 12, 2010, at Straub Hospital in O‘ahu, at age 57. Born on Aug. 28, 1952, in Laoag City, Philippines, she was a contract worker in Hong Kong and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Wilson Madriaga; daughters Ling-Ling (Gary) Rayco of Canada, Maribel (Carlito) Manangan of Canada, Mylene (Benie) Battulayan of ‘Oma‘o, and Sharon (Jesie) Santos of the Philippines; grandchildren Carl, Breanne and Grayson; parents Berto and Mating Agno of the Philippines; sisters Clarita Domingo, Oping (Duardo) Mann, Josie (Macky) Acoba and Alma (Alex) Santos; brothers Joel (Lowie) Agno and Victor (Melba) Agno; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services at 5 p.m., on Saturday, July 24, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa. Burial to be at Currimao, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.

Joseph Arruda Jr.
Joseph Andrew “Sonny” Arruda Jr. of Kapa‘a died July 14, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 80. Born on Aug. 21, 1929, in Kapa‘a, he was a retired lieutenant with the Kaua‘i Police Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Arruda Sr.; brother Jordan Arruda; sisters Marie Arruda and Rosalani Arruda; and daughter Diana Javier.
He is survived by his wife Lillian Arruda; daughters Gloria (Russell) Yee, Mary Moran, Vicky Koga and Carrie (Greg) Kanelis; son Joseph (Juli) Arruda III; brother Donald Arruda; sister Theresa (James) Fune; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation at 8:30 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., on Friday, July 30, at St. Catherine Church in Kapa‘a. Burial to follow at St. Catherine Church Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested.

Irene Yata
Irene Fusako Yata of Lihu‘e died at Garden Isle Health Care on June 11, 2010, at the age of 82. She was born in Lihu‘e on May 24, 1928, and retired from the Hawai‘i Agriculture Experiment Station as a clerk with the state of Hawai‘i.
She is survived by son Glenn (Lezlie) Yata of Califonia; daughters Sheila (Clint) Saiki of Kapa‘a and Linda (John) Planas of Hanapepe; brothers George Ohama of Lihu‘e and Stanley Ohama of Honolulu; sisters Hilda Ohama of Honolulu and Dora Sato of Lihu‘e; six grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services were held. Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Yata family with arrangements.
Bebincia Mindora
Bebincia R. Mindora of Lihu‘e passed away at the age of 86 on July 6, 2010, at Garden Isle Health Care. Born in Hawai‘i on June 17, 1924, she was a chamber maid in the hotel industry.
She is survived by sons Ernest Mindoro Jr., Alan (Candida Vegas) Mindoro, Clifford (Leilani) Mindoro and Michael (Cindy) Mindoro; daughters Crystal (Joseph) Song, Lorilei Mindoro and Cecilia (Rudy) Verdugo; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is Thursday, July 22 at Immaculate Conception Church, with visitation at 8 a.m. and Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m.

Alfonso Bautista
Alfonso B. Bautista, 98, of Kilauea, Kaua‘i, died on July 12, 2010 at his Kilauea home. Born on May 14, 1912 in the Philippines, he was a retired groundskeeper.
He is survived by three daughters: Nelly Bautista, Noreen Bautista and Raina (Thomas) Bautista-Balai, numerous family members and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 23 at St. Sylvester’s Church from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., with memorial services to begin at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow at St. Catherine Church Cemetery.
