LIHU‘E — Hawaiian Telcom has provided Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i with a $10,000 grant to support their Summer Reading Program and the “Keep Doors Open” campaign.
The Summer Reading Program includes free, 45-minute performances by storytellers and artists appropriate for children, teens and adults at libraries statewide from now through July 2, states a company press release.

“We are grateful for Hawaiian Telcom’s generous support so our state libraries can continue programs to encourage reading at all levels,” said Byrde Cestare, executive director for the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i.
“Their support will also help maintain current services at the Kane‘ohe Library on O‘ahu and the Pahoa Library on the Big Island.”

Inouye will present Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i with a check at the organization’s 63rd Annual Book Sale at the McKinley High School cafeteria at 4:30 p.m. on June 18.
