Waimea High School ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicles) club was the only Kaua‘i school to compete at the 2010 BIRR (Big Island Regional ROV) competition in Hilo, May 15. Team Menehune Madness placed second in the Ranger High School Division and also received the ‘Guts and Glory’ award. The school’s ROV club has been active in this school year, attending various community service activities. Club members are Elisa Broyles, Tanner Fernandez, Ka‘imi Kaohi-Miyashiro, KJ Morikawa, Jacob Matutino, Camden Nakashima, Tresten Nakashima, Josh Quinlan and Li‘a Shigematsu.
