Toshie Hada
Toshie Takemoto Hada of Lihu‘e died April 23, 2010, at Garden Isle Healthcare at age 91. She was born on Oct. 8, 1918, in Kealia, Kaua‘i.
She is survived by her sons Patrick (Joyce) Hada of Kapolei, O‘ahu, Russell (Beverly) Hada of Portland, Ore., and Stuart Hada of Maple Shade, N.J.; daughters Marilyn (Shigeru) Matsumoto of Lihu‘e, Christine Aguirre of Lihu‘e and Jackie (Rodney) Shimatsu of Kekaha; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Kimiye (Fred) Yamashita; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were private.

Henry Seki
Henry T. Seki of Kapa‘a died April 22, 2010, at Garden Isle Healthcare at age 96. He was born on July 5, 1913, in Lihu‘e.
He is survived by his daughters Shirley (Robert) Okamoto of Honolulu and Elaine Seki of Kapa‘a; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Services were private. The family requests that no koden be sent.

Harumi Tamagawa
Harumi “Alice” Tamagawa of Kapa‘a died May 4, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 79. Born on Feb. 26, 1931, in Niumalu, Kaua‘i, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Toku” Tamagawa.
She is survived by her sons Keith (Lynn) Tamagawa and Glenn Tamagawa; daughters Gaylyn (Floyd) Fujii and Joy Barthes; sister May Soo; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation at 9:30 a.m., service at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, May 15, at Kapa‘a Missionary Church.
Family requests that flowers be omitted.

Florida A. Butac of ‘Ele‘ele died April 25, 2010, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 75. Born on April 20, 1935, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired field worker with Olokele Sugar Company.
She is survived by her son Jerry Butac of ‘Ele‘ele; daughters Glena (Leonard) Butac of ‘Ele‘ele and Feve (Christopher) Banasihan of Kalaheo; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters Patrocinia Rivera and Angeles Villacorta both of Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
Visitation from 9 to 11 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 15, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Casual attire is suggested.

Benjamin Kuhaulua Jr.
Benjamin Moke Kuhaulua Jr. of Kapa‘a died May 6, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 72. Born on Dec. 2, 1937, in Ho‘olehua, Moloka‘i, he was a retired County foreman for Beautification and a former construction worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Kuhaulua Sr. and Mary Kuhaulua of Ananhola; siblings Emma Kuhaulua, Abner Kuhaulua, Robert “Bobby” Kuhaulua, Jonathon Kuhaulua and Matthan Kuhaulua.
He is survived by his wife Sara J. Kuhaulua; brothers Abraham Kuhaulua and Kaleihoku (Sarah) Kuhaulua of Anahola; sister Lynette (Moku) Lanning of Anahola; children Carmen Harbin of Mississippi, Mary Huddy of Anahola, Leialoha Stivers of Kentucky, Laura Stacy of Hawai‘i and Benjamin “Punahele” (Tracy “U‘ilani”) Kuhaulua III of Anahola; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service at 9 a.m., on Sunday, May 16, at Anahola Beach Park. Casual attire is suggested.
Richard Silva
Richard “Dickie” Silva of Lawa‘i died May 7, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 81. Born on Sept. 30, 1928, in Koloa, he was a diesel mechanic for Pacific Machinery.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Rose Silva.
He is survived by his wife Louise Silva; son Wayne (Denise) Silva of ‘Oma‘o; daughters Sharon (Duane) Hahn of Honolulu, Joyce (Greg) Clute of Honolulu, Lisa (Roger) Taniguchi of Makaweli; brothers Robert (Josephine) Silva of ‘Ele‘ele and James (Patricia) Silva of San Diego, Calif.; hanai sisters Diana (Darrel) Simao and Linda (Michael) Koerte; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation at 8:30 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., on Saturday, May 15, at Saint Raphael Catholic Church in Koloa. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery.

Walter Honjo
Walter Masaru Honjo of Kalaheo died April 19, 2010, at his home at age 81. Born on Sept. 16, 1928, in Kula, Maui, he was a retired accounting investigator with the State of Hawai‘i.
He was preceded in death by his parents Iwakichi and Mitsuyo Honjo.
He is survived by his wife Magdalina “Maggie” Honjo of Kalaheo; sons Roy Honjo of Honolulu, Randall Honjo and Roger Honjo both of Kalaheo; daughters Renette (Gary) Gaspar of Kalaheo, Allison Pettersson of Honolulu and Beverlylynn (David) Saunders of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Henry (Elizabeth) Honjo of Kalaheo; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing at 4 p.m., service at 5:30 p.m., on Tuesday, May 18, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcomed. Interment at a later date.

Richard Hisashi Ihara of Lihu‘e died May 9, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 77. Born on Aug. 7, 1932, in Kapaia, he was a maintenance worker with Westin Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by his parents Muneo and Hatsuko Ihara; sisters Ayako Neifert and Akie Moribe.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Ihara; daughters Debbie (Randal) Valenciano of Lihu‘e and Shari Ihara of Kona, Hawai‘i; grandchildren Marisa Valenciano, Dreana Valenciano, Jenna Gerdsen and Randon Valenciano; brothers Allen Ihara and Wayne (Mitzie) Ihara both of Lihu‘e; sisters Kimie (Gene) Sommerfeld of Oklahoma and Patricia (Alan) Ticala of O‘ahu; mother-in-law Misako Kawamoto of Koloa; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jack Law
Jack M. Law of Princeville died May 8, 2010, at his home.
He is survived by his wife Sharon; daughters Jacque Del Gadillo and Jean McManus; sister Sara Grote of Colorado; stepdaughters Kathy Ries of California and Kimberly Forman of Kaua‘i; stepson Edward Ries of California; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial service at 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 15, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Kolo Road in Kilauea.

James Abihai
James Sonny Abihai of Anahola died April 18, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 46. Born on Jan. 3, 1964, on O‘ahu, he was the front desk manager at The Cliffs at Princeville.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Abihai Sr. and grandmother Myrtle Lee.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather Mary Ellen (Tom) Abihai-Gonsalves of Anahola; brothers Joseph (Lana) Abihai Jr. of Maui and Willy (Clara) Abihai of Kalaheo; sister Josephine (Ben) Kali Jr. of ‘Ele‘ele; hanai children Malia (Brian) Imaoka of Kealia, Kuulei (Lumbo) Kali, Ipo Kali and Krysta Kali all of ‘Ele‘ele; grandfather Wah Quan Lee of Koloa; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 22, at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home with viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.

Catherine Parinas
Catherine “Cathy” Busaan Parinas of Waimea, Kaua‘i, died May 3, 2010, at Queen’s Medical Center at age 37. Born on Nov. 23, 1972, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, she was a certified nurse’s aide for Nursefinders.
She was preceded in death by her father Domingo Parinas.
She is survived by her son Austin Parinas-Kenney of Waimea; daughters Sheena Parinas of Waimea and Chalissah Parinas Kenney of Waimea; mother Amancia (Sonny Bacio) Bunsaan Parinas of Waimea; sisters Marcelina (Donato) Parinas of Kekaha and Josefina (Amancio) Johnson of California; life-long companion Jon Nakashima of Hanapepe; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
