Carol Ann von Wiegen
Carol Ann von Wiegen of Kapa‘a died March 16, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 61. Born on Oct. 25, 1948, in Newark, N.Y., she was the founder of Ship Store Galleries and president of Von Maritime Inc.
She was preceded in death by her father, David P. Colarocco.
She is survived by her husband, Fred von Wiegen; daughter, Caroline (Manolito) Sarmiento; mother, Lucy DeCann; sisters, Marie Lombard, Kathy (David) Schlesselman, Nancy Lee, Bonnie DeCann; Brother, Robert DeCann; three grandchildren, Allen Dynes, Devin Dynes, and Annabelle Saramiento.
Memorial service to be held on Saturday, March 27, at St. Catherines Catholic Church, Kapa‘a. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.

Charles Cushman
Charles S. Cushman of Koloa died March 16, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 71. Born April 24, 1938, in Salem, Mass., he had an extensive career as am educator with a master’s degree in English and also managed Po‘ipu Crater Resort.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Cushman; daughter, Amy (Greg) Cushman Black; Christopher (Leslie) Cushman; brothers, Robert and Harold Cushman; two grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be private. Arrangements by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Bacillio ‘Dickie’ Laranio
Bacillio “Dickie” Laranio of Kapahi died March 5, 2010, at The Queen’s Medical Center, O‘ahu, at age 83. Born on March 2, 1927 in Anahola, he was a retired platoon sergeant in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roman and Severina Laranio; sisters Helen Mandrial and Mary Rasay, and brother Francisco Omaya.
He is survived by his wife Crispina Laranio; sons Richard (Donna) Laranio and John Laranio; daughters Diana (Clifford) Mancia and Linda (Calvin) Tani; brother Domingo Laranio; 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., service at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 27, at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery pavilion. Burial to follow.
Casual attire is suggested.

Vicente Dumbrique
Vicente Dumbrique of Lihu‘e died March 7, 2010, at Garden Isle HealthCare at age 89. Born May 28, 1920, in Laoag City, Philippines, he worked ground maintenance with Old Koloa Town.
He is survived by his wife, Gliceria Dumbrique of Lihu‘e; son, Aurelio (Josie) Dumbrique of Lihu‘e; daughters, Naty (John) Lorenzo of Koloa, Tessie (Steve) Hyde of Lihu‘e, Elizabeth (Ernie) Gabriel of San Jose, Calif., and Dolly (Boyd) Schneider of Mililani; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Diega Ancheta of San Jose, Calif., and Florentina Pecho of Manila, Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be Saturday, March 27, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, Koloa. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. with Mass to follow. Burial will be at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Perlita Baldonado
Perlita Racca Baldonado of Kealia died at home on March 15, 2010, at age 62. Born July 24, 1947, in the Philippines, she retired from Pono Kai Resort as the laundry supervisor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Domingo and Lucrecia Racca; sister Hermelina Muraoka; brother Reymundo Racca; and hanai mother, Lita Racca.
She is survived by her husband, Marcelo Baldonado; son Mark Baldonado, both of Kealia; sister, Linda Lopez of the Philippines; brothers, Roger, Nestor and Fidencio Racca, all of the Philippines; hanai mother, Marcelina Raqueno; hanai sisters, Marilyn Fernandez and Elnora Rabaino; hanai brothers, Randy, Warren and Allen Racca; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church on Friday, March 26, with visitation at 8:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
Casual aloha wear requested. Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
Elsie Agan
Elsie Agan of Kapa‘a died March 10, 2010, at home at age 67. Born Feb. 27, 1943, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, she was a resident with the Steadfest family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelio Mier and Lucia Bruce Mier.
She is survived by five sons: Stanley Agan Jr. of Waimea, Reynald Gene (Dolly) Agan of Hanapepe, Patrick (Maricel) Agan of Kalaheo, Derreck (Melinda) Agan of ‘Oma‘o and Darin (Ding) Agan of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Clarence (Carmen) Mier of O‘ahu; sisters, Mary Otlang of Kalaheo, Dolores (Jaime) Roldan of O‘ahu and Connie (Raymond) Agan of California.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 27, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with visitation from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers are requested to be omitted.

Yukiko Yamane
Yukiko Miura Yamane died March 17, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 91. Born June 25, 1918, she worked at M. Miura Store, the Kaua‘i Police Department and Mahelona Hospital. She had served many years as an RSVP volunteer at Wilcox Hospital’s long-term care and the county DMV information desk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jihei and Shimoyo Inoshita Miura; and sister, Mitsuyo Miura Morita.
She is survived by her children, Janice Bond, Lihu‘e, Dr. Stanley J. (Joyce) Yamane of Jacksonville, Fla., Diane (Michael) Horita of Lihu‘e, and Lawrence Yamane of Waipahu, O‘ahu; grandchildren, John David Stem, Lawrence (Hope) Stem, Stanley T.A. (Stephanie) Yamane, Karen ((Erin) Jordan, Kevin Horita, Christy (Rob) Nii, Jason (Elsie) Yamane, Keelan Yamane, Nikoles (Niki) Yamane, and Lauren Yamane; sisters, Kay (Minoru) Morimoto of Aiea, Bessie Maeda of Lihu‘e, Aileen Miura of Hawaii Kai; brothers, Tad (Margaret) Miura of Lihu‘e, and Dr. Calvin (Beth) Miura of Honolulu; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
