David Nawrocki
David Ernest Nawrocki of Lihu‘e died Feb. 24, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 48. He was born on Aug. 15, 1961, in Warren, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Nawrocki and sister Kathy Watters.
He is survived by his companion Norma Fernandez; father Ernest Nawrocki; brother Dan (Roslyn) Nawrocki; sister Karen (Todd) Landstrom; brother-in-law John Watters; numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m., on Sunday, March 7, at The Salvation Army in Lihu‘e. A memorial service in Michigan will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Michiko Higashi
Michiko Patsy Higashi of Hanama‘ulu died Feb. 26, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 77. Born on April 21, 1932, in Hawai‘i, she was a retired kitchen helper for Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Ann Harada and Nancy Matsuda; son Boyd Higashi; and brother Sunao Inouye.
She is survived by her companion Yoshio Higa; son Harry Higashi Jr.; daughters Lynn Ajimura-Lee, Gail (Byran) Chun and Karen (Lambert) Alapai; brother Mike (Nora) Inouye; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation at 9 a.m., services at 10 a.m., on Monday, March 8, at Lihu‘e Hongwanji.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Rose Ibara
Rose Tsuyako Ibara of Waimea died Feb. 24, 2010, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 91. Born on May 21, 1918, in Makaweli, she was a postal clerk at Waimea Post Office.
She is survived by her sons Richard (Irm) of California, Wilfred of Kekaha, Leslie (Linda) and Thomas (Melanie) both of Waimea; daughters Patsy (Glenn) Nitta and Susan (Al) Arquette both of Waimea; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Marjorie Johnson of California, Patsy Sakai of Lihu‘e, Maryann Shimamoto of Wailua and Ruth Johnson of California; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were private.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.

Ermine “Lei” Kailikini born Jan. 13, 1931, passed away at her home in Hanapepe Valley surrounded by loved ones on Feb. 26, 2010, at age 79.
She will forever live in the hearts of her surviving family — spouse Abraham Kailikini Sr.; children Abraham Kailikini Jr., Pamela (Ernest) Dow, Ruth (Dwayne) Naumu and Cythnia Blair; siblings Edward (Pat)Taniguchi, Nicholas (Nancy) Taniguchi, Gordon Akuna, Beverly Kahalioumi, Archie Ka‘aua, Alan Ka‘aua and Lani Bruss; eight grandchildren, Shelcie (Kevin) Fune, Kevin Kailikini, Travis (Jessica Hoe) Kailkini, Chrystie (Juan) Vasquez, Tiffany Naumu, Trisha Naumu, Garrette Naumu and Krystal Naumu; eight great-grandchildren, Justin and Jordyn Fune, Bronson, Lilinoe and Haaheo Kailikini, Brenden, Aleajah and Taytra Naumu; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Services on Saturday, March 6 at Borthwick Mortuary in Koloa. Viewing from 10 a.m. to noon. Services to begin at 12:30 p.m. Burial at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
