Richard Nagao
Richard Chiyoto Nagao of Lihu‘e died Feb. 15, 2010, at the Tripler Army Medical Center at age 88. Born on Dec. 7, 1921, on Kaua‘i, he was a World War II Veteran that served in Company A 100th Battalion 442nd Regiment Infantry, and was a retired farmer on lands near Wailua Falls.
He is survived by his wife Shizuko Nagao; sister Eleanor Shizue Izutsu; sons Robert Nagao, Lighten Nagao and David (Colette) Nagao; daughters Melani Nagao, May Sato, Lani Nagao-Tadaki, Cynthia Nagao and Angela (Timothy) Agustin; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service was held on Feb. 22.
Visitation at 2 p.m., service to follow, on Sunday, Feb. 28, at Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e.
Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.
Donations may be made to a local charity of your choice in Richard Nagao’s memory.
