Mahalo to Kaua‘i High School coach Clarence Sales for getting the county’s 11 and Under schedule. Tab Matsumoto said the program has eight teams and will start play Feb. 22 at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Coach Cecil Gee is back from Honolulu with a shirt that flashes when he talks. Gee said he got the shirt for his boys while he was on Honolulu for the Great Aloha Run, but had a change of heart when he got home, so wore it to the game, Wednesday night.
He’s got a team in the 11 and Under league along with coaches Phillip Baclayon, Max Manera, Matt Taba, Clyde Vito, Dino Pabre (three-on-three hoops, anyone?), John Matsuyoshi and Antonio Pope (it’s Gotcha time!).
Hats off to Ray Blouin and the family of Aston properties on a heart-warming tribute to coaches for the work they do on an everyday basis.
Congratulations to Waimea paddling coach Kane Turalde on winning the two-night oceanfront room from the Aston Aloha Beach Resort, and Anahola Joel Pahukula for the room at the Aston Po‘ipu Kai.
OK, time to go check out the Waimea Town Celebration…
