LIHU‘E — The idea of having hands serviced while the car is being serviced appears to have taken off.
Rocky Pascua, nail technician at Hair Razors on Rice Street in Lihu‘e, was busy working with a customer in the waiting room at King Auto Center, Friday.
The appointment sheet next to her showed no openings remaining for the time she spends doing manicures once a week at the auto dealership.
“It’s okay,” Pascua said. “I usually try to slide customers in between so everyone gets helped.”
King Auto Center launched this unique partnership with Hair Razors two Fridays ago, having a nail technician or manicurist on hand at the dealership once a week.
“We have her here on Fridays between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. for our lady customers who bring their cars in for service,” said Jose Aguayo, manager for King Auto Center. “This week, she’s booked solid and she already has partial appointments for next week.”
Aguayo said because Valentine’s Day falls on Sunday, Pascua will be making her stop on Saturday instead of Friday.
“Right now, we’re trying to find out what works for our customers,” Aguayo said. “We may adjust the days she comes based on customer responses, but for now, it’s Fridays.”
Ladies wishing to have a manicure while waiting for their cars being serviced simply make the appointment while setting up the appointment for the car service.
“We wanted to make sure the ladies are No. 1 at King Auto Center and are welcome here,” Aguayo said. “We are constantly looking for different ways to improve customer satisfaction and cater to our lady customers. As you know, customer satisfaction is very important to us.”
There is no charge for lady customers at King Auto Center to indulge in the manicure, but Aguayo said tips to Pascua are welcomed.
“The customers so far are very happy with the new service,” Aguayo said. “In fact, some of them commented on Rocky being here because she is so popular. This is a great partnership with Hair Razors.”
Aguayo said if the customers are happy, King Auto Center is happy.
