Rueben Kahalekomo
Rueben “Matule” Namakaeha Kahalekomo of Waianae, Hawai‘i, died Jan. 31, 2010, at his home at age 77. Born on Sept. 21, 1932, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, he was a retired refuse worker from the City and County of Honolulu.
He is survived by his sons Alvin (Abby) Ainoa and Craig (Arnell) Ainoa; daughters Gwendolyn (Robert) Naeole, Sarah Valdez, Pauline Cash, Geraldine Meyer and Stephanie (Willie) Allen; 29 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; sister Jenny Keuma of Kaua‘i; nieces, nephews and many loved friends.
Visitation at 6 p.m., service at 6:45 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary Chapel. Cremation to follow.
Arrangements are being handled by Williams Funeral Services.
George Wachi
George Hiroyuki Wachi of Hanapepe died Feb. 2, 2010, at Straub Clinic Hospital at age 70. Born on May 22, 1939, in Pa‘auhau, Hawai‘i, he was a retired field superintendent of Gay & Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Masatoshi and Toshiko (Tojio) Wachi.
He is survived by his wife Carol Ann (Omori) Wachi; son Jason Hiroyuki (Hazel) Wachi; daughter Cindi Ann (Alex Gann) Wachi; grandchildren Jianna Wachi, Kallen Wachi, Carissa Gann and Caitlin Gann; brothers Allen Kazuki (Fumiko) Wachi and Leslie Sueki (Darylyne) Wachi.
Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 12, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Interment at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.
