The registration runs now through Feb. 26 at the following schools, and through March 1 at Kalaheo School (332-6801): ‘Ele‘ele (335-2111); Hanalei (826-4300); Kapa‘a Elementary (821-4424); Kekaha (337-7655); Kilauea (828-1212); King Kaumuali‘i (241-3150); and Koloa (742-3150).
Registration is also ongoing at Wilcox, 274-3150, generally weekdays except furlough Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Those wishing for more information should call the school where their child or children will be enrolling, the release states.
Also, in a separate release, the DOE announced individual schools have either changed or canceled scheduled planning, collaboration and waiver days for the rest of the current school year, in order to allow for more classroom instruction because of furlough Fridays.
The following schools have canceled all of the planning, collaboration and waiver days for the remainder of the current school year: ‘Ele‘ele, Hanalei, Kalaheo, King Kaumuali‘i, Kekaha and Waimea High.
At Kapa‘a Elementary and Kapa‘a Middle, students have a five-day weekend this week and part of next week, with a waiver day Feb. 11, furlough Friday Feb. 12, and Presidents’ Day holiday Feb. 15.
Kapa‘a Elementary, Kapa‘a High and Kilauea’s sole planning/collaboration day for the rest of this school year is April 20, and Kapa‘a Middle, Chiefess Kamakahelei and Wilcox’s is April 26, the release states.
Kaua‘i High School’s lone remaining planning/collaboration day is March 31, and Waimea Canyon has a single waiver day, May 17.
