Responding to a request for the county’s usage of two-way radios and commercial drivers, county spokeswoman Mary Daubert reported last week via e-mail that:
• Bus/van drivers (58) and repair shop staff (4) use two-way radios for work.
• Bus drivers (53) and repair shop staff (1) have CDL licenses for work.
• The Transportation Agency has over 10 vehicles (van, minivans, utility truck, etc.) that are not commercial vehicles that may be driven by someone with a CDL. They would not be exempt from current bill.
• Department of Parks and Recreation Park rangers (7) use two-way radios for work.
• Equipment operators II (2), Veterans Cemetery caretaker/equipment operator (1) and heavy truck driver (1) have CDL licenses for work.
• Department of Public Works employees (27) use two-way radios for work.
• Public Works employees (57) are required to have CDLs for work, including Equipment Operator Trainer (1); Landfill Operators (8); Landfill Utility Worker (1); Equipment Operators (31); Refuse Collection Crew Leaders (6); Refuse Collection Equipment Operator (1); Solid Waste Working Supervisor (2); Heavy Vehicle and Construction Equipment Mechanics (5); Field Equipment Service Attendant (1); and Sewer Maintenance Repairer (1).
