Bridge club results

The Sunrise Club plays at 9 a.m. every Thursday (open game) at the Community Building in Princeville. The club welcomes North Shore visitors and part-time vacationers.

Results for Thursday’s sanctioned event are: First, Dileep Bal and Vijay Bal; Second, Glenda Lewis and Francine Donahue.

The Sunset Club plays at 1 p.m. every Saturday (open game) at the Community Building in Princeville. This long-established club is convenient and conducts friendly and competitive play for all island players. For playing partners or information, call Lolita at 826-6805. A wonderful Club Christmas Party was held at the home of Marnie Webster before play.

Results for Saturday’s sanctioned event are: First, RC and Judy Smith; Second, Lenda Helser and Sheila Honeywelll; Third, Vijay and Dileep Bal; Fourth, Bill and Joanne Georgi; Fifth, Francine Donahue and Glenda Lewis.

The North Shore and Poalua Bridge Clubs meet every Thursday at the Sun Village Club House behind Wilcox Memorial Hospital in Lihu‘e. The game starts promptly at 9 a.m. and visitors are enthusiastically welcomed by club members. This is the oldest bridge club on Kaua‘i. Results for Thursday’s four-table Howell movement bridge game are: First, Sinclair Coghill and Bob Buck; Second, Dick Shen and George Tutschek from Austria; Third, Lil Riley and Deborah Byrnes.
