PRINCEVILLE — The public has until Monday to vote for their favorite tree at the St. Regis resort lobby, said Ruth Marvin of Coldwell Bankers Bali Hai Realty. The contest started Dec. 4.
“Everything benefits Hanalei School,” Marvin said. “The hotel provided the trees and the community businesses turned out to decorate the trees as a way the hotel could help with fundraising for Hanalei School.”
Hanalei Elementary School plays a very important role for the North Shore community, states a flier explaining the voting process.
The public “ballots” are dollar bills and the winner of the contest will be determined by the amount of dollars in the ballot box at the end of the voting period, the flier explains.
All of the money collected will be a donation to the Hanalei School PTSA which provides academic programs and instructors, music programs, physical education programs, garden programs, and other extra curricular activities for the school’s students.
“Hanalei School also has a tree, and I think right now they’re in the lead,” Marvin, whose firm has a decorated tree in the contest, said. “But there are at least a dozen trees people can admire.”
