Santa Claus knows about kupuna.
The jolly elder from the North Pole joined members of the Rotary Club of West Kaua‘i and preschool students from the Child Development Center at the Pacific Missile Range Facility at Mana in visiting six care homes from Kekaha to ‘Ele‘ele, recently.
Rick Thasher, Foundation Chair and President Elect of the Rotary Club of West Kaua‘i, said the group visited kupuna at the care center, spending time spreading holiday cheer, caroling and providing gifts for the kupuna.
Through the afternoon, the group was also joined by elves from the Rotary families.
Thrasher said the entourage stopped at Nanamua Hale in Kekaha, the Kaua‘i Care Center in Waimea, the Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waimea, Lucy Andres home in Hanapepe, Emelia Navarro home in Hanapepe and Barbara Cabanes home in ‘Ele‘ele.
Santa and the Rotarian entourage visited with more than 70 kupuna during the outing.
