Kaua‘i High School dominated the all star selections in the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation Air Riflery and Bowling.
The Red Raiders placed two seniors and two sophomores in the Boys Air Riflery selections announced Nov. 22 by the KIF.
A Waimea sophomore filled in the remaining Boys Air Riflery position. With just two seniors in five positions, the program promises a strong returning crew during the 2010 season.
Two Kaua‘i seniors a junior, sophomore and freshman filled five of the six spots filled in the Girls Bowling selection.
The remaining Girls Bowling spot was filled by a Kapa‘a junior indicating a strong returning team for the 2010 season as only two seniors fill the six spots.
Kapa‘a dominated the bowling teams as Joanna Chang, the consistent Warrior girls leader and advancing to the state tournament as an individualist, filled the No. 6 slot of the girls team.
Kapa‘a also placed in five of the six spots available in Boys Bowling, three of the five being seniors.
Waimea senior James Paleracio filled in the remaining spot. With four of the six boys spots filled with seniors, the 2010 holds promise as all teams will vie to be leaders.
Waimea fielded four of the five spots in the Girls Air Riflery all stars, three of the five being seniors and the fifth slot earned by Brianne Hornos, a returning junior from Kaua‘i and a consistent scoring leader during the KIF season.
This puts the Girls Air Riflery in a good position as both Waimea and Kaua‘i work to build teams in preparation for the 2010 season.
