Betty Kobayashi is getting nervous about Nov. 28. OK, so it’s 10 days away, but that’s when the traditional craft fair at Wilcox School cafeteria opens. It used to be Vicky Ramos who did that along with Erlinda Bukoski, and who knows? They might be there with their unique items, but we know Gerry Yamamoto should have her quillows there (and at the Kaua‘i Museum the next week).
Edwin Vea will have recovered enough from the Grove Farm swap meet and Karin Panui should have more of those hot/cold bags (the wine bags are at 7-Eleven for a good price) in the new designs, and Karin said the potato bags are still good sellers.
That’s the beauty of craft fairs — finding those really neat things you can’t find in stores. Any good cookbooks out there?
Bill Lemke, Sonny Kaona, Dr. Rick Goodale and Madeline Hiraga-Nuccio all had to balance officiating at the KIF pre-season soccer game between Hilo and Kapa‘a and then running over for the KSA playoffs at the North Vidinha field. It was a good thing the Hilo game was at Vidinha Stadium. Now, if only there was a lunch wagon around since the Aston Kaua‘i Beach at Maka‘iwa fishing was a no-go, and there is no drive-through McDonald’s in Lihu‘e for now.
