Happy birthday to “Grandma” Soly Fernandez! She celebrated her special day at Nawiliwili (no fishing?) and granddaughter Topaz Fernandez (congratulations on the congeniality title at the O‘ahu pageant) was there along with all the ‘ohana. And mahalo to “Grandpa” Baco for the plate lunch. Soly said Joe Grace’s roast pork was on the menu (that’s courtesy of the Kaua‘i High School football food booth).
Richard Aki was at the harbor waiting for the Moku Pahu to make its final sugar run out of Kaua‘i, and Alvin Kurasaki stopped by to check out the Fernandez party.
William and Anita Kaneakua was at the North Vidinha field, watching soccer at the Wil Veech tournament.
Take time out to thank a veteran. Better yet, take in the Veterans Day service starting at 11 a.m. today at the Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery.
And check out Scott Johnson and Paulo of the Grove Farm Homestead Museum. They’re doing Veterans Day rides from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
