It was high-fives all around for the crew on the Japanese navy destroyer JS Myoko (DDG 175) after their missile successfully hit and destroyed a mock hostile missile in a missile-defense test Tuesday evening.
The test involved the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer JS Myoko (DDG 175) detecting and tracking a mock enemy missile launched from the U.S. Navy Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands near Kekaha, then firing a missile to hit to kill the mock enemy missile.
Another test is tentatively scheduled for next year.
