Cristano Agustin Sr.
Crisanto B. Agustin Sr. of Hanama‘ulu died Oct. 26, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 94. Born on Oct. 25, 1915, in Camiling Tarlac, Philippines, he retired from Kaua‘i Surf as a groundskeeper.
He was preceded in death by his son Crisanto.
He is survived by his wife Petronila; children Rudolfo (Luz) Agustin of Puhi, Remedios (Paulino) Arellano of Koloa, Perla (Adolfo) Yago of Hanama‘ulu, Estela (Ferdinand) Caoagas of Wailua, Evelyn (Bill) Villasin of San Diego, Leticia (Lee) Dooney of California, daughter-in-law Alanna Agustin of Hanama‘ulu; brothers Cristito Agustin and Alfonso (Francisca) Agustin both of the Philippines; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wake service from 6 to 9 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall. Viewing from 8 to 9:45 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 9 at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens at 11:15 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested.

Damen Donald Gonsalves of Lihu‘e died Oct. 22, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 72. Born on Nov. 20, 1936, in Lihu‘e, he retired from Lihu‘e Sugar Plantation as a herbicide supervisor.
He is survived by his wife Fanny; children Darlene (Jeff) Petrie of Oregon, Lisa (Joe) Kali of Kekaha, Dana Gonsalves of Wailua, Ronald (Stephanie) Gonsalves of Las Vegas and Lilia (Charles) Lee of Lihu‘e; brothers, Ralph “Junie” (Veronica) Gonsalves of Lihu‘e, Clifford (Eleanor) Gonsalves of Hanama‘ulu, Thomas (Evelyn) Gonsalves of Kapaia; sister Deborah Gonsalves-Kaiu of Maui; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 6 to 7:45 p.m., service at 8 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 29, at Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall. Cremation to follow.
Casual attire is suggested.

Gary Frank Cummings Sr. of Anahola died Oct. 25, 2009, at his home at age 75. Born on Feb. 8, 1934, in Hanama‘ulu, he retired as a heavy equipment operator with E.F. Nilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Humphries Cummings and Theresa Cummings Kido; grandson Gary Cummings III; son-in-law Jonathan Silva; in-laws John and Miriam Pia; brothers-in-law Earl Apo Sr., George Pia, Joseph Pia and Charles Kiilau; sisters-in-law Madeline Raymond and Rosetta Murayama.
He is survived by his wife Ruby; children Gary Frank (Faith) Cummings Jr., Sharlyn (Philip) Delos Reyes, Lizann (Gerard) Oga, Momi (Alan) Carvalho, Steve (Candice) Cummings, Ed (Michele) Cummings, Randall (Lexandra) Cummings, Puanani (Boom) Gomes and Sherri (Leggs) Yokotake; 33 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; sister Agnes Apo; brothers Kenneth (Charlene) Cummings Sr., John (Barbara) Cummings Sr. and Wilbert (Alice) Cummings Sr., sister-in-law Lily Kiilau; brothers-in-law John (Suzanne) Pia, Arthur Pia and Hiram (Karen) Pia; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lillian Christian
Lillian Desiree Christian of Kapa‘a died Oct. 16, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 82. Born on July 24, 1927, in Koloa, she was a restaurant manager for the Kaua‘i Surf and Coco Palms.
She is survived by her brothers Akem (Rosalyn), Douglas “Boogie” (Marlene), Melvin (Emily) and Marvin Tung Loong; sisters Alice Kaneshiro and Charlotte (Ben) May; sons Darryl, Kaleo (Corliss) and Kaipo (Donna) Christian; grandchildren Keao, Deborah “Piilani” and Keola Christian; great-grandchildren Kaina, Jotis, Kyrus, Chloe and Pililani; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church with lunch to follow at the church hall. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted. Scattering of ashes will be at a later date.

Joanne Snow-Smith
Joanne Snow-Smith of Kapa‘a died Oct. 14, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 83. Born on Nov. 1, 1924, in Baltimore, Md., she was a professor emeritus of Art History at the University of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her son Henry Smith III, her first husband Robert Smith and her second husband Robert Edward Willstadter.
She is survived by her children Jaye Darby, Constance Bagley, Cynthia Bloom and Robert Smith Jr.; partner John Nakamura; stepdaughters Megan Pottorff and Karen Willstadter; five grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren.
Viewing at 3 p.m., service at 4 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 30, at All Saints Church in Kapa‘a. Burial immediately to follow at All Saints Church.
