Lihu‘e Bulldog quarterback Royce Allianic threw for one and ran for another touchdown to lead the Bulldogs to a 22-14 win over the Kapa‘a Na Koa, Wednesday.
Allianic first hit Michael Remigio for a 30-yard scoring pass in the opening quarter with Kalen Lagoc-Chang’s point-after boot giving Lihu‘e an early 8-0 lead.
Allianic followed that score with a 10-yard run into the end zone in the second quarter with the Chang PAT boot giving Lihu‘e a solid
16-0 halftime lead.
Dreyke Smith-Butac put Lihu‘e on the board in the second half with an 81-yard runback of a Na Koa pass interception, only to have Julian Hines answer with a 44-yard runback of a Lihu‘e interception.
Cory Somera-Payomo booted the point-after for Na Koa.
The Lihu‘e win breaks a 1-1 stalemate following three of six games planned for the season. The Bulldogs now enjoy a 2-1 lead over Kapa‘a with the next game scheduled for Oct. 28.
