Julian Bisarra
Julian Cabote Bisarra of Kekaha died Oct. 7, 2009, at his home at age 90. He was born on Jan. 27, 1919, in Alcala, Pangasinan, Philippines.
He is survived by his wife Elvira Bisarra; sons Eugene Bisarra of Kekaha, Samuel Bisarra of Lihu‘e, Joel Bisarra of Arleta, Calif., Conrado Bisarra of Kekaha, Felix Bisarra of Kekaha and Ruben Bisarra of Valencia, Calif.; daughters Plebe Bisarra of Philippines, Hermie De Claro of Stockton, Calif., Luzviminda Bisarra of Loveland, Ohio and Edna Barnes of Henderson, Nev.; 45 grandchildren.
A wake ceremony will start with visitation at 6 p.m., service to follow, on Friday, Oct. 16, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel.
A funeral ceremony will start with visitation from 9 to 10 a.m., service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 17, at West Kaua‘i United Methodist Church in Kekaha. Burial will be at Kekaha Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcome.

Betty Lou Morris
Betty Lou Morris of Hanapepe died Oct. 1, 2009, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home at age 91. Born on June 17, 1918, in Tipp City, Ohio, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter Poock and Myra Zile and husband Eldon William Morris.
She is survived by her sons Philip (Jane) Baker of New Carlisle, Ohio, Thomas (Jeanette) Morris of Golden, Colo. and Timothy Morris of Waipahu, O‘ahu; daughters Phyllis Meighen of Hanapepe and Lisa Bailo of La Crescenta, Calif.; hanai daughter Christie (Carlo) Salvador of ‘Ele‘ele; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one hanai great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Hanapepe United Church of Christ. Interment at Hanapepe UCC. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.

Vanessa Valenciano
Vanessa Rose Valenciano of Lawai died Oct. 8, 2009, at her home at age 52. Born on Sept. 28, 1957, on Kaua‘i, she was a waitress.
She is survived by her husband Macklin Valenciano of Kaua‘i; daughters Shayla Agosto of Kaua‘i, Shaylin Valenciano of Kaua‘i and Shilum Agosto of Kaua‘i; brothers Revlon Parker of California, Terrance (Angie) Parker of Kaua‘i, William (Lynda) Mullen of California and Paul (Irene) Mullen of California; sisters Holly Ho and Amber Peters of O‘ahu.
Visitation from 6 to 9 p.m., cremation to follow, on Thursday, Oct. 15, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Memorial Chapel in Koloa.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Ralph Urabe
Ralph Urabe of Kapa‘a died Oct. 6, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 85. Born Oct. 1, 1924, in Lihu‘e, he was a retired postal clerk with Kapa‘a Post Office and proprietor of Urabe Store in Kapa‘a.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenzo and Shizue Urabe, stepmother Mizue Urabe, brothers Howard and Henry Urabe, brothers-in-law Robert Iwamoto and Charles Tamura.
He is survived by his wife Katherine Urabe of Kapa‘a; son Clifford (Gail) Urabe of Mililani; daughters Sheila Yamashiro of Kapa‘a and Joyce (Clifton) Sato of Kalaheo; brother George (Lily) Urabe of Pearl City; sisters Helen Iwamoto of Kaneohe and Elaine Tamura of Kapa‘a; sister-in-law Better Urabe of Gardena, Calif.; grandchildren Rae (Chad Gummerus) Yamashiro of Kapa‘a, Ken Yamashiro of Honolulu, Dawn (Marcus) Meaney of Pearl City, Cari-Ann Urabe of New York, Elysse Sato of Oregon and Jordan Sato of Oregon; great-grandchildren Eryn Yamashiro and Justin Gummerus; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were private.

Anthony Rapozo
Anthony Paul “Tonto” Rapozo of Kapa‘a died Oct. 8, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 41. He worked in golf maintenance at Kaua‘i Lagoons.
He was preceded in death by his parents Denis Rapozo and Carolina Delostrico Rapozo.
He is survived by his brother Glen Rapozo; sisters Natalie (Mick) Reiland, Brenda (John) Lee and Mary (Jesse) Kealoha.
Visitation from 9 to 10:45 a.m., Mass at 11:15 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapa‘a. Burial to follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Kealia.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary in Koloa.
Isamu Higa
Isamu “Higgins” Higa of Kapa‘a died Oct. 4, 2009, at home at age 84. Born on Aug. 25, 1925, on Kaua‘i, he was a World War II veteran and retired from Hawaii Air National Guard.
He is survived by his son Kevin (Udom) Higa of New Mexico; daughter Sherlyn (Irwin) Haraguchi of Kilauea; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers Tetsuo and Yoshio of Kaua‘i and Hirose of California; sisters Akiko Ebisui of Honolulu, Sachiko Morimoto of California and Fumiko Chow of Kaua‘i; caregivers Michael Manguchei and Ford Sueoka; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation at 10 a.m., services at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e.
Aloha attire is suggested and the family graciously declines flowers.
