LIHU’E – Starting Tuesday, operations at the Lihu‘e transfer station will be modified to accommodate extensive repair work scheduled at the station.
The project is expected to take 30 to 45 days to complete, a county news release says.
Residents going to the transfer station while the repair work is being done should expect delays and plan accordingly.
Only two vehicles at a time will be allowed to dump their waste, and construction debris over 3 feet long will not be allowed.
Businesses will still be required to present coupons prior to dumping, and pallets must be cut in half.
The repair work will not affect other programs at the transfer station including: used motor oil and filters; green waste diversion; and the tire, propane tank, and scrap metal recycling programs.
