There will be an informational briefing related to the state Department of Agriculture layoffs from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at King Kaumuali‘i Elementary School in Lihu‘e.
The purpose is to gather information on the potential impacts on the community and the agricultural industry on Kaua‘i, arising from the significant reduction in service at the plant quarantine branch on Kaua‘i, a state notice says.
The reduction of station staffing and the consequent reduction in service would come as the result of Gov. Linda Lingle’s announced implementation of reduction in force.
