Safeway to open in 2012
The 55,000-square-foot Safeway Lifestyle store slated to be constructed in Puhi is tentatively scheduled to open in 2012, according to Director of Public and Government Affairs, Susan Houghton in an e-mail Friday. The shopping center will include a pharmacy, Starbucks, seafood department and an expanded selection of poke, she said.
Property Development Centers is currently working with the state’s contractor on the timing for highway improvements and access to the site. More specific timing will be determined once a final schedule is obtained from the state’s contractor, she said.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has been recognized on BusinessWeek’s “Best Places to Launch a Career in 2009” survey, published in the Sept. 14 issue of the magazine. The industry-leading and widely read business publication included the organization as part of its fourth-annual survey of the year’s best companies for entry-level workers. The list of 69 employers spans 14 industries and highlights best-in-call companies, non-profits and government agencies that impressed editors with feedback from career counselors, students and company-specific statistics.
