Caroline Saronitman
Caroline Saronitman of Lihu‘e died Sept. 3, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 70. Born on July 30, 1930, in Hawai‘i, she was a retired homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry “Cha Cha” Saronitman, parents Dominador and Hattie Agayan and brothers David, Harrison and Jefferson Johnson.
She is survived by her sons Kalani (Melani) Agayan, Jim “Kimo” (Karen) Saronitman, Jed (Tamar) Saronitman, Ron “Mucho” (Sharon) Saronitman and Russell Sharpe; daughters Cathy (Bruce) Kali and Leeann Thompson; sisters Emma Pevalta, Ruby (Dave) Atkins, Barbara Ann (Jr.) Corpuz and Mae (Arnel) Bueno; 22 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation from 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Veterans Cemetery Pavilion. Inurnment to follow.

Masayo Hamamoto of Lihu‘e died Aug. 30, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband Shinichi Hamamoto.
She is survived by her children Lois Hamamoto of Albuquerque, N.M., and Glenda (Berry) Hamamoto Hayley of Coral Gables, Fla.; two grandsons; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter; sister Sally Hayashida of Lihu‘e and brother George Matsumoto of Honolulu.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lihu‘e Hongwanji Mission.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Hamamoto family with arrangements.
Alexandra Cacabelos
Alexandra Maria Cacabelos of Puhi died Sept. 2, 2009, at age 67. Born on Oct. 22, 1942, in Maui, she retired as a teacher’s aid at Wilcox Elementary School.
She is survived by her husband Avelardo Cacabelos Sr.; daughters Francine (Sergio) Asuncion, Lewella (Eddie) Lopez, Dorene (Harold) Asuncion, Amy (Eddie) Sarfine; sons Avelardo Cacabelos Jr. and Ashley Cacabelos; sisters Virgie (Raymond) Fargardo and Linda Paden; brother Vincent Freitas; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service at 10 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 11, at Kaua‘i Veterans Pavilion in Hanapepe. Inurnment to follow.
