Amanda Gregg (congratulations on the position with the county’s Anti-Drug office!) is excited and nervous since she was selected as a paddler for the Molokai race.
Amanda works with the underage drinking problem in the county office and will probably be at the Kaua‘i Anti-Drug third annual Health and Wellness Fair, Sept. 25. Last year, Alton Amimoto from the Drug Court did a great job with his video presentation, so how does he better that this year?
That health and wellness fair is the day before CherylAnn Farrell hosts the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk at Kukui Grove starting at 7 a.m. You can join Charles “Chip” Rebb (he’s the one with the big smile) and help the cause at the same time.
Mahalo to Joe Olivas for the ono grinds (Kenny Ishii wasn’t there, again) after working with Bobby Kubota and four generations of Pono Market professionals (apologies to that growing line of customers while the photo was done).
Joe is gearing up for the Mokihana Festival that starts later this month, and Kenny must’ve been out doing stuff for the Coconut Festival.
Don’t forget…tonight is the opener of KIF girls volleyball at Kaua‘i High School…JV starts at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity.
