LIHU‘E — The Annual KGEFCU Keiki Talent Competition will be held on Aug. 29 at the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau Fair, according to a press release, and entry forms are due this week.
Age divisions this year are 6-10 and 11-16 based on actual age on the day of the competition. Entry is free, and participants are eligible for $500 cash and a host of other prizes regardless of how well they finish. The competition begins at 12:30 p.m., and the deadline to enter is Friday at Kong radio. Entry forms are available at Kong and they must be filled out and officially turned in by 5 p.m.
The Annual Meadow Gold Healthy Baby Contest will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 29. There are a variety of divisions worth many prizes. The contest is open to babies aged 12-30 months. Entry forms are available at all Big Save Markets, Baby Blutique, and Kong radio, and the forms must be turned in at Kong Radio in Lihu‘e by 5 p.m. Friday.
Each of these events are part of a keiki salute at the fair that offers a variety of treats, and specials and entertainment geared for the island’s young growing families. And this year’s competitors and winners can all boast about how they participated during Kaua‘i’s official celebration of 50 years of statehood.
